I am digging these lamé oils cases I whipped up yesterday! I've never been adventurous with using apparel fabric for purses, but now my eyes have opened. The trick was to apply two layers of Pellon SF101 to the back side of the lamé, carefully, and then proceed as normal.
I used my pattern (available here). So fast, so handy to have, and if they don't sell in my shop they make great gifts for Teachers, Friends, Family, and the stranger in the grocery store too. LOL
I also made a Stash N Dash Coin Purse with the gold lamé, pattern available here.
Who can say no to gold Unicorns? Nobody.
In other sewing news, Rae is hosting a photo challenge for her Geranium Dress pattern.
I've made a couple Geraniums for Ruby and she loves them. They are easy to sew up and comfortable to wear. The dresses I've made close with snaps rather than buttons- just because I like to be extra fast. There are several different style options and you could easily color block it or mix and match elements to create your Little's favorite dress or top.

I'm sure if you sew you've stumbled upon Gretchen Hirsch aka Gertie. I'm joining in the sew-along with her newest pattern Butterick 6453 so that I can PROPERLY fit a bodice. (Finally.)
So far I've made my muslin and learned new things already- I've never done Princess seams before, so it's been fun learning about where they are supposed to hit for a flattering look, and how to move elements of the pattern to make it fit on my body. Instead of my usual "guess and try it" mode.
From her blog:
I'm still undecided on my fabric, but I am prepared with a real crinoline. YES. A real crinoline / petticoat for View A because I want that baby to be bouncing! Whooooo hooo. If you're gonna do it, do it all the way right?! I bought my crinoline on eBay here.

Speaking of Riff Raff, I seriously want this jacket:

You understand, right? So I might be searching for a jacket sewing pattern, in case you know of a good bomber jacket pattern. I'll be searching for rainbow rib knit also, FYI. (LOL)
My Pinterest Shizzle lately:

Especially good when it portrays my favorite Rebel.
My goal in 2017 is to read at least one book a month entirely. It's too often that I fall asleep the minute I open a book, so I'm setting goals and sticking to them.
So far this is what I've read:

Availableon Audible.
...Also, HumbertHumbert terrifies me more than before, just saying....
Ok that's it for now. I've got to finish hand binding this blasted quilt so it's ready for Sun Prairie Quilt Show this week. Hope to see you there if you're local!
love that new quilt...a stained glass window! How DO you listen to an audible and sew? I can't do it. Your little model for the Geranium dress is stunning! She is a natural!
