BLITHE blog tour stop

Welcome to my stop on the Blithe Blog Tour.

This serenely gorgeous fabric is designed by Katarina Roccella. You can see the whole line on the Art Gallery Fabrics website here, and trust me- you'll want to see it.

There are low volume prints, text prints, beautiful owls, deer, birch trees, evergreens, and flowers among others.

Here is the AGF description: "Blithe by Katarina Roccella. This beautiful collection is filled with frosty trees, confident deer, and subdued colors that will have you sewing in a winter wonderland. We must admit that this season, we’ll be experiencing winter vicariously through this collection."

I really love how Art Gallery puts together these Look Books, like a mini catalog to help you visualize how the fabric works in action.

Watch the AGF video here for more inspiration.

As ever, the feel of this fabric is silky and soft. It was an absolute joy to work with.

I made the Ananda Yoga Bag (free sewing pattern available here) and the Essential Oils case in Blithe.

In Winter I love that silence that comes after a fresh snowfall, when the world seems to become still, if only for a moment. That's how I feel in restorative yoga class, so I felt this was a perfect match to make myself a new mat bag and oils case.

Did you know that research has found the "restorative yoga" classes (where you sometimes hold a pose for 5 minutes or longer) are just as beneficial as those hot yoga classes? This form of yoga is meant to be easy and feel really good- mostly for tension release. Check the article about it in the latest Oprah magazine or here on Deepak's website.

I mean, sometimes I only go to Yoga class to lay in Shavasana... ya know?

Anywho, here are some more pics of my bags and a linked list of all the other makers for this blog hop. There are some truly STUNNING projects made- it's worth a few minutes to take a browse.

I love those delicate little flecks of gold in the birch tree print.

Frosted Evergreen print for the Essential Oils case.

I free motion quilted the yoga bag as I like the cushion-y feel of batting- so to give strength, I quilt them.

I love this print: Philosophers words on the bottom here.
