LOVE quilt tutorial and pattern download

Last weekend's events made me feel numb. I just don't understand it, no matter how many NPR shows I listen to analyzing the latest information. I'm so sick and tired of the anguish and terror that spreads in the name of religion or ideology. Enough is enough.

Let's take our focus and direct it on each other with compassion and kindness, without expectations, without worrying about our ego, and give all our energy to thinking good things. I'm not saying have your head in the clouds and ignore what's happening. No, not at all. I'm saying don't give your focus and energy to it. Acknowledge it - and move on. Make a difference in your tiny corner of the world, somehow-no matter how small the act of kindness is it will be noticed--right?

It could be so amazing.

Because Humans are amazing.

**UPDATE**------ quilt is signed and ready to ship. It's going to Hospital Headquarters in Paris, where my friend Romain, has promised to get it to the hospital. He states this in his email back to me: "thank you very much to you and your community to this witness of compassion."

I hope in some small way this will make a difference to somebody out there.

Get this pattern in my FREE folder by signing up for my Sunday emails here.

The free pattern folder is linked in every email I send out on Sunday mornings, with a purple button toward the bottom of the email. 🥰

After last weekend's events, it's easy to think humanity is doomed. But it's the opposite. If you pay attention to history, things have gotten better over time. Much better. A few fools can't bring down the whole world. No way man. Not a chance.

So here's my little pattern for you, for your sewing happiness. Doesn't matter where you send it, or to whom, or if you keep it yourself. It's a  reminder to remain loving and kind. To do the best you can. And to stay the course.

If you'd like to join me in sending your Love quilt to Paris hospitals, here is a list of addresses below. Use a Priority Mail International box and it will arrive within a week. If you're in the EU it's even faster to mail. Royal Mail takes a couple days at most to reach Paris.

  2. What a wonderful idea this is. We did something similar for children affected after the earthquake in New Zealand and it's these things you can do that stop you feeling helpless. I went to a Project Linus day on Saturday and was blown away by the generosity and kindness of so many people from so many different walks of life. The love, the good and the kind are all about us - we must just open our eyes, ears and hearts to them.

  3. I totally agree with you - hate will never win. And this is a cool quilt even without the cause, which makes it even better.
