I made another Washi Dress a few weeks ago, and just today got around to taking pictures of it.
It's in the Expansion Pack from Made by Rae. This is my third Washi, I plan on making at least three more. I have been using super soft voile fabric for mine, as I like to wear a tank top and either jeans, leggings, or tights with my dresses. I don't "do" bare legs.
I love this pattern (and all Rae's patterns) because it's no nonsense, easy to understand, and is comfortable to wear. Nothing worse than making a garment that is ill fitting- all the wasted time! This dress easily conforms to your body type due to smocking and the empire fit. She's a sewing genius in my opinion.
*Rae doesn't know me, just so ya know.
This fabric cost $3/yard, so for $6 I have a new dress (that nobody else has thank you). Not that I care if people wear the same stuff, but it is nice to be unique now and then.
It's a bit windy today. ;)
I'm wearing mine with the fave Express Jeggings (Stella super stretch) in black. Those jeans are like----amazing! Who knew skinny jeans could be-gasp--comfortable?!
You can see my other dresses here: Washi
If you're on the fence about diving in to make your own clothing, go for it! If I can do it, so can you.
Don't let perfectionism stand in your way. Every garment I make gets better, so I figure by the time I'm 70 I'll be a Chanel worthy couture sewing lady. ;)
To me it's absolutely fab! It's so nice to have something different than everyone else :) Big thanks for sharing :)
