This is what I did:
Crumpled some paper for the background and stamped it with French inspired stamps.
Then took a bunch of scrap fabric and rolled the strips into rosettes.
I use a glue gun, it's faster than hand sewing.
Glued the rosettes to my backdrop, framed it, and smiled.
The denim strips are from old jeans. Most of the rest are cottons, muslins, and some voile.
These pics aren't "styled"--and it shows, unfortunately.
I just can't muster the energy lately, in a good way. :o)

I love the way rosettes look but any time I try to make them they turn out looking like rolled up balls of fabric. I just cannot get them to look right. lol Super cute!
ReplyDeleteVery shabby chic! I am sure the photo's really don't do it justice.
ReplyDeletePretty! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSorry for being so slow on responding! i have several excuses...it is too hot, I have been too busy holding the water down in the pool! Too many people want me to stitch something up for them! OR Just behind in reading all of my email, with the summer off I am not online as much! But I do love your rosettes! framed and not framed! I love how you totally finished it off with the tiny details of the background!
ReplyDeleteWhat I need to know....not really but it sounds good....what do you mean by 'can't muster the energy lately, in a good way!'....is this something we, your faithful need to know! LOL
