Sewing Clothes: Quickie Bolero Knit Top

I often need some coverage over my tee so I don't feel too casual or too exposed. I've been eyeing bolero tops for a while, but I can't justify $25-40 for one!
Here is my take on it:

Fold your fabric rectangle like this: fold lengthwise, then widthwise. Mine is roughly 22x15 inches  (I think I would like it a bit bigger, so go for 30x18 inches folded if you feel the same.)

See how we have a double fold now? I put the clothespin in the corner for reference.

Now cut this "U"  type shape-I just eyeballed it. Seriously, it's not science.
Mine is roughly 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide.

Pin all layers together.

Sew up both sides where I show.

This is how it looks after sewing the sides.
To put it on- there is no top or bottom, just pick one.
Arms through the arm holes,
and there you go girl!

SWEET

Now I'm off to make some other colors! yeeee

And here is my new jersey scarf .
I saw this idea here  & it stuck in my head. Just today I finally got around to making it. So easy & fresh. LOVE.
